Heavy-Duty Cage Formers

  • This system is a scientifically safe means of site assembling pile cages where an alternative to traditional site welding is required. (certified to UK CARES technical approval document TA5/5010:2005)
  • Cage formers contain rebar locator stubs to ensure highly accurate circumferential settings to main cage bars
  • Twin-ring construction gives rigid box-like nature to cage formers ensuring robustness of finished pile cage
  • Integral mechanical clamps, when torqued at 80Nm, provide scientific cage lifting points (typical single clamp test strength = 120kN) giving high factors of safety during suspension of cage
  • Built-in anti-racking supports permit cage stability during site lifting operation
  • Rigid, integral cover spacers supplied to any cover dimension reduce workload of piling crew
  • Five grades of spacer ‘footprint’ available according to cage weight and piling application
  • All ROMTECH skid spacers comply with the ‘heavy-duty’ structural test requirements of BS 7973:2001
  • Template-like nature of formers allow rapid, highly accurate cage steelfixing operation
  • Clamp test strengths available on request
  • Economic cogency of cage former solution enhanced by supplementary locator rings and ladder spacers
